FOLKLORE

Inspired by a Japanese kimono from the Meiji period (1868-1912) I have transformed it into a sculptural and cubic dress. The construction of a kimono is very special because it is constructed only by squares, which is also the basis of my design. A kimono consists of a lot of symbolic meanings for example the length of the sleeves and the decoration. To show this I have worked with a two-length sleeve and different sizes of quilting.
